These Usually Go Hand In Hand
Both of these videos were featured on an email chain I was involved in today, and I figure both are worth sharing. I'll call the first one "Saturday night" and the second one "Sunday morning."
Way to go Bruce Willis.

Brain Farm Digital Cinema
This production outfit out of Jackson employs a RED camera system (like one step UP from IMAX) that is gyro-stabilized on its choppers to provide an unmatched cinematic experience. But those are details you don't need to know or worry about. Just watch and feel good about what this means for the extreme adventure film genre.

You know what movie I bet is REALLY going to suck?
"The Devil."
Not only is it by that director that hasn't made a good movie since "The Sixth Sense" - where, let's face it, Bruce Willis' toupe was by far the best character in the film - but also it's entirely about people stuck in an elevator getting killed. AND that dude from Super Troopers plays a business man.
Anyway, go see it if you want.

Vindication
All the years of hard work. All the sacrifice. The visits to IT. The cultivation of a rabid fan base. Chasing leads, breaking stories. Spreading blame, offering praise and dropping knowledge. TCD has arrived. We're breaking out of the blogosphere, off of your computer screen and onto your local movie screen before we straight up invade your 50 inch flat screen in your living room.

BOOM!
The scoop from the New Yorker: In theaters on November 5 (and on Magnolia On Demand October 1) is Client 9, Alex Gibney's much-discussed documentary on the fall of Eliot Spitzer. For the movie, Gibney had impressive access to Spitzer's allies and enemies, plus — amazingly! — the former New York governor himself.
Thanks for the look, Uncle Jesse.

Suck It, Entertainment Weekly
In a world full of bad news, this might be the worst...

But at least Entertainment Weekly is the most illegitimate of the news sources TCD follows and this cover/story cannot be true. Otherwise it would be a disaster the likes of which this world has ever seen. Bond is the greatest thing that happened to movies, MGM, TBS and Spike TV all at the same time. Dudes around the world consider Bond to be a Keystone Species. That is, if the franchise goes, the world is over. So dudes of the world unite. Save 007. I would watch Timothy Dalton on repeat if that is what it takes to save save Bond. Seriously.

Top Gun in 60 Seconds
Mildly funny except for the part where he pulled out of the volleyball game on his bike - I had a good laugh at that.

When Will the Rest of the USA Recycle As Much As Hollywood Does?

Same Paper, different shows. Lots of 'em in fact. The common thread? Most of these shows are created by lazy hacks.
Amazing Montage.
And more pics at SlashFilm, including a few movies too.

Where Have YOU Been?
I got this question a lot from my parents growing up. But it's about time someone asked this guy, too.

No, that is not a fatter and older Emmitt Smith. It's Chris Tucker. Rush Hour 3, (yes there was a 3), his last movie, came out in 2007. So really he hasn't been in a movie since 1998 when Rush Hour I came out. Seriously, where have you been, guy? Tucker himself even admitted that he needed something to happen in his life so that people would stop bugging him about his Rush Hour days.
Personally, I enjoyed his humor. More in Friday than in any of the Rush Hour's, but I won't complain if he makes a comeback.

Conquerers of the Useless
I beg to differ with Yvonne Chouinard's description of his and North Face founder Dough Tompkin's epic 1968 adventure down the western backbone of this great continent that yielded two great outdoor clothing and equipment companies and preserved 2 million acres of Patagonian landscape, but who am I to argue? 40 years later, the Malloy brothers of professional surfing fame recreated the adventure with some buddies and the result is what I am sure will prove to be a great film. 180* South will start showing in cities around the country this weekend. To see if the film is coming to your 'hood, check here.
Because it's not coming to Boston, watch the trailer below.
