He's a Pinball Wizard and 7' 2"

As one of 19 Nets fans on the planet, I might keep closer tabs on Todd MacCullough than the average person.

So I was really excited to find an article in the Washington Post on MacCullough's new pinball skills.

A couple more pictures of the big lug if you follow the link. Not sure why the Washington Post did a spread on him when he's up in Washington State. Not sure why they went long on the article either, but the first few paragraphs are pretty funny.

NBA sending the Nets and Raptors to the NBA's D League in Europe

Okay, that's not true but the Nets and Raptors are playing two regular season games in London next Spring. The upside, that's two fewer games the Nets and Raptors will play on American (or Canadian) soil. Downside, not North America putting its best athletic foot forward.

NBA commissioner David Stern announced Monday that the Toronto Raptors and New Jersey Nets will play a pair of regular-season games in London this season.

This whole fiasco has really taken LeBron down several notches in my book. I know that the media is largely responsible for all of the hype, but choosing to announce his decision on a one hour ESPN prime time show? C'mon man. Supposedly, he going to announce his decision within the first 10-15 minutes. I find that very hard to believe.



His choices are said to be between going to Miami to join Bosh and Wade, or remain in Cleveland and staying true to his roots. Chicago is no longer an option, it seems LeBron did not seem as interested in joining the Bulls so they went ahead and signed Boozer. The Knicks are out as well, not sure why, and the lowly Nets never had a prayer (sorry Phil).

There are good arguments for both cities. Miami is poised to take a run at another championship with the addition of Bosh to complement Wade. Cleveland, however, is where LeBron grew up and its where his mother still lives. I hear that the Cavs basically support her as well and go out of their way to make sure she is happy, which makes sense because if Gloria isn't happy, you can be sure that LeBron isn't happy either. Cleveland is also where LeBron's entourage is from; they won state championships together and all of those guys are A-listers in Cleveland. It's safe to say that they would get swallowed up by a big city like NY, Miami or LA, and they've been lobbying for James to stay put.

I am guessing that James is going to remain in Cleveland, although they're probably not going to win a championship for another 2-3 years until the rest of their second tier contracts expire. Cleveland can reportedly offer the most money, and with Gloria and his posse happy, I believe he'll stay with the Cavs, but who really knows.

It is not going to be easy but the Celtics could wrap this up tonight in L.A. It's going to take a huge effort from Pierce, KG, Rondo, the bench, and maybe Ray Allen can hit a couple 3's (at this point I would settle for just one).

Simmons Perfectly Describes Rasheed Wallace's Thought Process in Signing with The Celtics

Bill Simmons, I really want to hate you but you do get it. I have felt the exact same way about 'Sheed all season. In describing 'Sheed's motivation ('Sheed? Motivation?) to sign with the Celtics instead of retiring:

'Instead of retiring, I'll just sign with a contender, pocket another $20 million, hang with the fellas, jack up some 3s, play myself into shape during the regular season, then go hard in May and June.'

TCD also has 4th hand data that RaWeed plays a lot of Call of Duty, too. Worthless.

It's been a while since I've roasted the Nets for their abysmal performance on the basketball court.

Current record: 3-35
Losing streak: 6 games

To restate my earlier prediction: The Nets will only win 6 games this year.

Washington Wizards teammates Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton drew guns on each other during a Christmas Eve locker room argument over a gambling debt, according to The New York Post.

Last week, the Wizards and Arenas acknowledged that Arenas had stored unloaded firearms in a container in his locker, and the NBA said it was looking into the situation.

It was during that investigation that a confrontation between Arenas and Crittenton was revealed, according to a Yahoo! Sports report.

The dispute stemmed from an unspecified disagreement, sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Citing an anonymous source, the Post reported in Friday's edition, however, that the standoff was sparked when Crittenton became angry at Arenas for refusing to make good on a gambling debt.

That prompted Arenas to draw on Crittenton, who then also grabbed for a gun, league security sources told the Post.

The Nets have lost 10 straight bringing them to a ghastly 2-29.

I may have overshot it when I said they'd win 6 games this year.

They're clearly playing for that record I mentioned earlier. One commenter predicted they'll break into the double digits for wins this year somehow. I'm less optimistic and I'm putting a number on it.

The Nets will win 6 games and will set the record for the fewest wins in an NBA regular season.

No, I will not be changing the title of this post even though the Nets beat the Bobcats 97-91 last night to improve to 1-18.

After a 117-101 thumping by the Dallas Mavericks, the Nets have set a new record for worst start to an NBA season...of all time.

The question is: where does it end?

They've got the Bobcats and the Knicks coming up but really, can there be any hope left in that locker room?

The Nets are now 0-17 after a solid thumping from the Lakers and have tied the worst start to an NBA season.

They've fired their head coach, put Tom Barrise in as interim head coach and have to look ahead to the Dallas Mavericks at home to avoid losing again.

I've got a prediction on that one but won't bother sharing it here.
