Homes, shopping plazas, a facility for people with mental illness, an airport hangar, a church, a saw mill, greenhouses, small businesses, at least 130 barns, and a coop in Bozrah, Connecticut home to 85,000 chicken...all victims of Snowpocalypto's new tactic of collapsing roofs. NY Times has it all here.

Middletown, CT - home of the gross and perpetually overrated Wesleyan Cardinal - has apparently been hard hit. Their local paper mapped out roof collapses across the Nutmeg State. My advice: stay away from the I-91 corridor.

Now that's a party

The annual shred fest for Cambridge and Oxford students apparently got a bit out of hand. The schools' combo ski trip to the French resort of Val Thorens was highlighted by a series of on-mountain competitions for which the winning prize was an all expenses paid trip courtesy of travel company Scott Dunn. Things started to go awry when, desperate for victory, teams started getting naked, and, in at least one instance, poured pasta sauce and smeared chocolate on their bodies. As one of the winners admitted to Cherwell, the Oxford student newspaper, "I sold my dignity for a free holiday."

Dungus watch 2011 - PICTURES

I took it upon myself to go out and do some spotter reporting. I'm not sure how much snow Boston received (lots) but I did just hear that some town in central MA. named Munson received about 30". Sounds about right. The snow in Boston was the heavy, wet type. Heavy enough, coupled with a stiff wind, to take down some pretty big trees. Pictures below.

Field Report: NYC garbage removal

It snowed a couple of feet in NYC on December 26. A week and a half later, the only mounds left are those of the garbage that has yet to be removed. So gross.
