Infographic of the day: Traffic Fatalities

Say what you want about the auto industry, and trust me, I say a lot...they are making safer cars these days. In fact, I would guess that we're a lot less safe when we drive because of all of the distractions we're created (GPS, cell phones, DVD players, etc) so the cars are keeping us alive all the more. Good stats to see. What the chart shows is that while the total number of fatalities has stayed roughly the same, the fatality rate has plummeted.
