Bridge Year

Adam Schefter reports that the Patriots are finalizing a trade that would ship Randy Moss to the Vikings for a 3rd round pick next year. According to Schefter, Moss' agent requested a trade from the team after week 1 and now it seems that both sides are nearing an agreement. The sticking point in this trade appears to be a contact extension for the future HOF wideout, something that the Vikings would be able to give Moss while he plays out his final years in Minnesota where it all started.

This move comes as a surprise to many, some believe that now is as good a time as any with the bye week coming up and with Minnesota getting ready to play the Jets next week. Moss has been targeted 4 times in the last two games for 2 TDs and with the deep personnel in the passing game, the Patriots brass seem to think that they don't need Moss' services any more.

Dumbest move I have ever seen from the Patriots. As it stands today, even with Moss on the 53 man roster, the Pats are not as good as the Jets. If you get rid of Moss, there is no way they can stretch the field and create mismatches underneath with the slot game or with the TE's. Trading Moss away now means to give up on the season, because they will not be able to stack up against the rest of the elite AFC teams like Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Indy or even San Diego, whom the Patriots face later this season.

What the F. There is always next year I guess.

  1. Do you think the Pats will even field a team next year? I heard Kraft is moving them to Hartford. This surely porks Moss' fantasy owners if it occurs because that slender woman QBing New England sure tosses the ball better (RIGHT NOW) than the old guy in MN.

  2. I thought the Pats could go 11-5 this year, but with that trade I think they are more of a 9-7 team at best. Eli wears velcro shoes.

  3. Phil what did I tell you about posting comments when you are intoxicated. And I agree with you Crash this is a bad move but I am not counting them out this season quite yet, but maybe im just a homer. O and if they kept him for the season and let him walk they would have gotten a compensatory 3rd round pick so we just gave him away for literally nothing
