Michelob Light Really Gets The Competitive Juices Flowing
More from my Michelob Light commercial series. This time the winner of the mixed doubles match wins the Michelob Light! I feel like the next commercial is going to have to feature sailing.

Two sweet smart phone apps
iSwimNude - locations of nearest topless/nude beaches. Probably yields best results outside of US, closer to/South of the equator. Summer in Brazil, for instance, is not that far off. Neither is winter in St. Barths.
DateMate - essentially a really smart "little black book." In all honesty I can't tell if this is too cheesy or screams of too much desperation, but it is kind of hilarious/awesome. Essentially you build a profile for each chic and track your contact with them, dates, bases achieved, etc. This app will even spit out serious graphs to track your progress pursuing various inputs (i.e., chics) over user-defined timeframes. TCD loves data/infographics/charts.

Machine turns plastic into oil
You read the headline right, an inventor in Japan has invented a machine that turns #2, 3 and 4 plastic into oil. Before we all collectively lose our shit over this potentially world-changing invention, it still requires a good amount of power to complete this task. Make no mistake, once they really work to develop this and make it more efficient, it could have immediate benefits. Obviously, this isn't the same as replacing our dependence on oil with a renewable energy source, but it's still cool and for the next 50 years, could make a big difference.
From Big Think and authored by my favorite nerd, Maria Popova, an excerpt below, full article here:
To harness this energy while addressing the waste problem, Japanese company Blest has created a machine that converts several types of plastic into oil.
Rather than burning the plastic using flame, which generates CO2, the machine uses a temperature-controlled electric heater to convert plastic into crude gas, which can then be used to power gas-based household appliances like stoves, boilers and generators or, if refined, can even be pumped into a car or motorcycle. Small yet highly efficient, the machine produces nearly one liter of oil – gasoline, diesel or kerosine – from every kilogram of plastic, requiring only 1 kilowatt of electricity for the conversion.

Spies
TCD is usually pretty good at covering current and compelling events taking place across the globe (see our award winning coverage of the oil spill). And though I have recently been absent from the blog and could have missed this, I don't think we've touched on the Russian spy case. Most of you know the story: 10 or so spies living among us trying to blend in with regular Americans, all Russian, one of them hot and a US/Russian spy swap on an Austrian air strip.
Well, today the FBI and Cambridge Police came out with some of the items seized following a sweep of the Cambridge house where two of the spies lived: Cellphones, laptops, memory sticks, disks, satellite computers, invisible ink (80s), documents, credit cards, fake ID's, pills and various forms of foreign currency. Basically your Jason Bourne starter kit. Then the FBI said they found a Dr. Pepper can with a fake lid and a Coke can with a fake bottom. I have no idea what those would be used for but I'm intrigued. Sounds like one of those spy-tech toys I used to play with back when I was 19 11 years old. Can one our Russian spy readers fill us in on what the fake cans (ha!) are used for? Thanks

Ponytails Cocktails
Words that have been said many times so far this Summer. In fact, if you hear a TCD staff member talking about ponytails at his local tiki bar, he probably really means cocktails - just a little insider tip for our faithful readers.

Revisionist History
Some "folks" in Texas are longing for the stoneage. A gaggle of ultra-conservative Evangelicals have gained control of the Texas Education Board and are looking to make some changes to the curriculum in the state public school system. What are these changes you ask? Welp, there will be plenty of discussion about god, guns and the benefits of McCarthyism with minimal focus on science, the civil rights movement and Thomas Jefferson - other than denouncing his idea of separation of church and state. The article says that liberals across the country are alarmed. Yeah, well, shouldn't everyone but these people be alarmed? This idea and these people seem pretty fuuuucked. Glad the Texas public school system is breeding tomorrow's American Taliban. Maybe this subject will be tackled in season 5 of Friday Night Lights with Joe McCoy leading the munson movement. I don't do this justice. Read the full article here.

Fun With Colors
Unfortunately, the results of the comical survey are far more pleasing than the real life survey based on the comic. I'll let you decide which one's is fake and which one is real. Just know that if you can't figure it out you're more than colorblind.

Tebow Follow-up
Tim, you're a better and more accomplished man than me, but you also make yourself an easy target. We last told you about Tim's paltry Wonderlic Exam result, now we're getting some sweet intel from Pro Football Talk on Tim's pre-Wonderlic ritual. Check it here. Hilarious.

God Wants Tim Tebow to be a Bank Teller
Maybe? If Tim Tebow did not possess football skill worthy of being an NFL prospect, his natural trade according to his 22/50 score on the Wonderlic Exam, would be a bank teller (not that thats a bad thing, although getting 44% on anything usually indicates massive dumbass). Tebow, one of the more obnoxious athletes willing to drop a shameless plug for Jesus Christ at the sight of a microphone, received the worst score out of the top four NFL QB prospects in this year's draft. Douche #2 Jimmy Clausen edged out Tebow with a smooth 23/50 which might allow him to unload the Brink's truck if he snaps a femur.Luckily for Tebow, the Wonderlic Exam really means a whole lot of nothing as an indication for what an NFL career will look like. 49ers QB Alex Smith scored a 40/50 and the rumor is that the Niners might be looking to replace him with Tebow. Accomplished QBs like Dan Marino, Jim Kelly and Donovan McNabb received 15,15, and 14, respectively. 10/50 means you can read.
I'll give Tebow some credit. Obviously he is a smart guy. Just look at his 3.66 GPA at The University of Florida in his double major of Economic Theory and Comparative Foreign Policy. Sorry. Typo. I meant his major in Family, Youth and community services.

How to Make It in America
New HBO series with loads of potential. From the producers of "Entourage" comes "How to Make It In America," a story about twenty somethings and their entrepreneurial adventures in NYC. Somewhat of a cliche premise, but after watching the pilot, I trust that HBO will keep it from being a formulaic, Horatio Alger story. Find it on HBO, Sunday night's, 10pm. Trailer below.
