When keeping it real goes wrong

Eric Torpy asked an Oklahoma District Judge for a sentence of 33 years, rather than the 30 that the judge was prepared to give him for armed robbery and two counts of shooting with intent to kill. The judge gladly gave him another three years to honor the request. Why did Torpy (that's really his last name) want 33 years instead of the original 30? His favorite basketball player growing was Larry Legend, and Torpy wanted to honor him by getting his sentence increased to 33 years. Torpy keeps it real.
