This story, from today's NYTimes op-ed section (forwarded by beloved TCD contributor "the slavic wave") talks about how we're due for a huge solar storm in the next couple of years. For those of you who haven't read the piece, a solar storm could knock out our power grid for days/months/years and cost trillions of dollars to fix. Forget for a second about the MAJOR panic, looting and rioting that would take place, no power would just suck!
