Disclaimer: This is going to be a chaotic post with no order whatsoever and is going to be slightly negative. I don't have to even tell you what this is going to be about, this is about early Christmas in L.A. I was texting Snipes during the second half and I have to admit, I lost faith in the team during the end of the 3rd and start of the 4th. The C's had a great first quarter and during this series, the team that won the first quarter won every game, but since it was game 7, I didn't put too much stock in that. The C's narrowly lost the 2nd and 3rd quarters and got blown out in the 4th. What was working on offense was the pick and rolls, but then the C's lost all discipline on offense and Pierce/Garnett/Allen started taking these crazy iso's from the top of the key and putting up crazy shots. They got out-rebounded and out-hustled. Allen was 3/14. The game was the Celtics to lose especially since Bryant and Gasol each had really slow first halfs. Pathetic. I knew they were in trouble when Fisher hit that big 3 in the 3rd or 4th, the Celtics had nothing on offense and with all the team fouls the Lakers lived on the foul line in the 4th. The Celtics definitely lost that game, the Lakers did not win.

Also, Van Gundy said that there were isolating with Pierce to much and not using the pick and roll action that they lived on early in the game. When he was saying that I was just hoping that Doc knew that too but EVERY time they put the mic on Doc he kept saying "you have to take this," or "be aggressive." Great motivator but I don't know if he's a great x's and o's guy.

I was just listening to a Boston sports radio station and they brought Bill Walton on to talk about the series and Walton started to go pro-Lakers so they just hung up on him. That was pleasing.

  1. They keep saying on the radio that Doc was begging them to move the ball, maybe he did, I don't know. It just seems like with 3 hall of famers on the floor, they should have known that they needed to move the ball. They played like a young team down the stretch.
