This sounds familiar

A description of recent revelry on UConn's campus following the school's NC2A hoops championship, courtesy of ESPN.com...

Police said one car was flipped and a couple of fires were started in dumpsters. A couch was set on fire and a car was overturned at an off-campus apartment complex. State police say a crowd of 200 or so had gathered, and some were throwing bottles at troopers. Dogs were used to disperse the crowd.

Good people of New England, we've seen an April couch fire related to an intercollegiate athletic victory before. 83.5 Harpswell Road? April 2005?

Nefarious characters abound in this shot. Is someone wearing a Charlotte Hornets jersey? Orange Crush obviously making an appearance. Seeds, are those goggles? Pam Cakes, take off my Sydney sweatshirt. And, most importantly, is that T-Mac's wife on the phone in the extreme right?

Aftermath showed up, too.

Fact: Mules Are Sterile

Epic lacrosse and Bowdoin positivity below to followup on Crash's sentimental piece on UVA. The action picks up with 40 seconds to go in the 4th quarter of Sunday's NESCAC Men's Lacrosse Quarterfinal matchup between the 4th seeded Polar Bears and 5th seeded Colby Sterile Mules. Bowdoin is down 11-9 when the video starts. The tables have turned by the time the video ends. Instant Classic.

There is also some standard home team heckling going down that TCD was both on the giving and receiving end of throughout the collegiate experience.

Thanks to T McCabe for passing along. The Best!

Lax-a-bunga

Crash has taken a new interest in lax this season but has been focusing on D1 since his alma mater has once again underachieved through the first 3/4 of the season save for a big victory at our rival school. This year's D1 game is as exciting as ever when last week UVA beat UNC 7-5 to become the only undefeated D1 school in the game. UVA has been averaging 15+ goals/game this season and last week's game was all about the defense. There are some great games on this weekend especially UVA vs. Duke at 8:30 on Saturday night. Duke has had another great year with only 3 losses and despite the year Quinzani and Crotty are having (102 points combined), I expect the Wahoos extend their streak. UVA plays a spead offense and has a lot of firepower at Attack as well as 2 strong lines of middies led by twin bros. Rhamel and Shamel Bratton, who are both fast and can shoot the lights out on the run. This is going to be a great game and if you don't get the U, you should head to your nearest sports watering hole and take in the game before you begin your night.

Check out this clip of UVA's March 7 win over former #1 'Cuse to wet the appetite for tomorrow night's matchup:
