Andy Irons died yesterday in a Dallas hotel room after skipping his flight to Hawaii after not feeling well. This is a tragic loss to the sporting community and extreme sports in general, I didn't even find out about this until 5 minutes ago when I saw that Lance Armstrong had tweeted it. Irons was a 3x World Champion on the ASP tour and a 3x Quicksilver Pro France Champion and was arguably the best surfer in the mid 2000's. Fans will remember his rivalry with Kelly Slater on the World Tour and his general awesomeness. Irons was 32.
