From the Orlando (gross) Sentinel:
"Jamison Stone, 11, fired 9 shots from a .50-caliber revolver in Delta, Ala., to kill this wild hog, which his father says weighed 1,051 pounds and measured 9 feet 4 inches from snout to tail. If the claims are accurate, the boar, killed May 3, would be bigger than `Hogzilla,' a wild hog killed in Georgia in 2004 that weighed 800 pounds and was 8 feet long."
I 100% do not believe that photo. That thing is bigger than my car. No chance that's real.

ReplyDeleteI meant to say I'm 'no' firearms expert but I thought that revolvers only hold 6 rounds?
ReplyDeleteIt's the Orlando Sentinel so I doubt it holds its writers to highest standards of journalism. But yet, I'm also not aware of a 9 round revolver. I'd also be surprised if a kid of that size could really manage a .50 Cal and also agree that that hog is just too dang big.
ReplyDeleteIt's a cool photo nonetheless.
That is one big dadgum hog
ReplyDeletethis is old news. this photo was circulating around the net about three years ago and yes it was ruled to be a fake
ReplyDeleteThanks anonymous, do you know where we can find the story that it was ruled a fake? Want to post that too
ReplyDeletecan't find the exact article ruling it a hoax but you can do a little more research. the date was May 26, 2007 and there are several different news stories claiming many different versions. Perhaps it is true but i kinda remember someone blowing up this little kid's story

ReplyDeleteit's real, but it came from a hog breeder and was sold to the game preserve where the kid shot it.
