TCD Education Exclusive: Campus Update

1) APR Violations: So 80s!

The 1980s were back in the classroom this week. Finally.

Of all the rules in the world, Absolute Priority Rule (APR) sounds like a pretty important one. But what does a rule with a title of such supremacy - the Rule of Rules, if you will - actually mean and how is it related to the 1980s other than the fact that really important rules are so 80s? Glad you asked. APR determines the order in which different classes of creditors of a firm are paid. According to research by Eberhart, Moore, Roenfeldt (1990), APR violations occurred in 75% of bankruptcies filed between 1979 and 1986. Gross rule violations are also so 80s, a fact Big Wave confirmed via text during class.

2) Massey - Peabody Rankings.

A few weeks ago, TCD introduced the universe to the Massey-Peabody NFL Power Rankings. Numbers are published on Wednesdays and the blog blows up Thursday to Friday.
