This is no joke. There are still estimated to be about 100 uncontacted tribes out there, with about half existing in Brazil and Peru. Uncontacted means that they still live as they have for hundreds or thousands of years and haven't been influenced at all (or much at all) by the outside world. In most cases, they have seen aircraft (see photo below) but haven't had a face-to-face interaction with outsiders. These tribes face a real threat from logging operations.
