Joe Barton, asshole from Texas, claims that forcing BP to create a $20 Billion repayment fund amounts to a shakedown by the Obama administration. In other words, he's cradling the nuts of the oil companies so closely that he can't see the need for BP to make right - financially - the great disaster they've caused. This is what it has come to people, partisan politics are so f'ed in the U.S. that Republicans can't even agree with Obama on punishing BP for causing an environmental catastrophe. Egad.

One note...and I offer this begrudgingly: Republican leaders did make this guy apologize for his apology and publicly rebuked him.
