UVA Tragedy

I wanted to post a little something about the recent tragedy at the University of Virginia. It seems that a member of the women's lacrosse team was murdered by a student of UVA who happened to be a member of the men's lacrosse team, although he has not been convicted or found guilty of anything as of yet. This is a great loss to the UVA community and also resonates throughout the lacrosse community. Just as the lacrosse world was shedding the negative connotations of the Duke scandal, another perrenial powerhouse slips from the summit. This is another unfortunate setback for the sport, it's another random data point on an otherwise golden reputation. Lacrosse is a great game played and enjoyed by so many, and like any sport, it is played by a few people who tarnish the reputation. The TCD's thoughts and prayers are with the UVA community as they battle through this difficult time. It is great that both teams will still enter their tournaments to honor Yeardley Love.
