Santa Clara U Students Organize To Protest AT&T's Cell Phone Coverage, I Become Increasingly Less Impressed with Santa Clara U Students

I could list all of the serious problems facing the nation and the myriad challenges and catastrophes going on in the world right now but I just don't feel like it. I haven't seen the sun in Boston in what feels like an eternity, I'm just trying to keep it together over here. (To rattle off a few anyhow, two wars, no healthcare bill, earthquakes devastating multiple nations, famine, global recession....you get the idea)

BUT...then I read this fine piece of news this morning. Students and staff (really?!) at Santa Clara U gathered together to protest AT&T's shitty cell phone coverage. OK, AT&T sucks, we've gathered that from their feeble ads featuring what appears to be a near-death Luke Wilson, but this is what college students are protesting now? Even when I was an undergrad we threw some fits over W. and his band of miscreants and I'm not much for activism.

Now I can't claim to actually care how students in California creatively find ways to skip class (this is a good one) but I have to hope that someone on that campus pointed out to them that they're embarrassing themselves and the school with this display. Or maybe things are just a lot better out west than the news makes it seem.

You can read more about it here.
