The NY Football Giants really put the kibosh on the tryptophan party that was raging in my brain last night, pretty much from the first snap of the football. November 2009 will close with the NY Yankees having won as many World Series clinching games as the Giants have won games this month. Is this the first sign of Crash's Coughing Dog Curse (a la the Sports Illustrated cover jinx, just with more alliteration) befalling the beloved GMen? Thanks buddy.
In order to selfishly share some of the pain that is my football and turkey hangover, here is a cartoon courtesy of The Economist that appeared earlier this month. On a day that represents what the prime driver of the US economy has become - i.e., the over-consumption of foreign made goods - this seems particularly poignant.
Also, check out this really interesting interactive map that charts the geography of the recession in terms of job loss by county in the United States from January 2007 to September 2009.
Wow. I am in a good mood today. Not.
